April 20th- what an exciting day!

April 20th has turned out to be quite an exciting day and there is still half of the day left! First, I'm happy to say that Russell Price Miller made his arrival into the world today at 2:20 AM. Davy, McCall and I are so excited for Kristen and Blair and can't wait to meet Price.

Candice and Ashley visited baby Price in the hospital (thanks for sending out pictures!) Look how handsome he is in his little Gamecock hat! Secondly, McCall had her first doctor's appointment today with Dr. Whitehead. I was so nervous about taking her out alone, so when Davy's mom offered to go with me I decided that it might not be a bad idea for her to tag along. My heart was beating so fast when it came time for the nurse to put McCall on the scale. Had I been doing a good job with feeding her?? I could not believe my eyes when the scale read 6 pounds 14 ounces!!! I was so worried about her losing more weight and she had actually gained 8 ounces since birth and really 11 ounces since her last time being weighed. I was thrilled!!!! Also, she came in at 20 1/8 inches long (she was 19 3/4 at birth). My baby is growing!!! The rest of the visit went great. She goes back in 6 weeks for her 2 month check-up.

Fun with Mimi and Grandpa

Saturday morning Mimi (my mom) and Grandpa (my dad) came to visit McCall. The weather was beautiful, so Davy and I decided to take McCall and my parents to the Flower Show at the Farmer's Market. I have been a little hesitant to take her out because I don't really want a ton of people touching her (I know, I'm being paranoid), but decided that since this was an outside event that we could put her in the stroller and cover her up, thus reducing the amount of people that might touch her. McCall was in a great mood- she slept part of the time and looked around at all the people the rest of the time. We were so glad we were able to venture out for a few hours without a melt down (it's the small things that make us happy these days :) ). It was so nice to have my parents here. They were such a huge help with McCall and around the house- again, it's the small things that really help Davy and I out (like watching her so we can eat, shower, take a nap, etc.).Needless to say, our house was not a fun place to be for an hour or two after my parents left- we sure do wish they lived closer! :( Anyway, below are some pictures from the weekend.

Tomorrow is McCall's first doctors appointment AND the first time I will be driving or taking McCall out by myself. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. I hope everything goes smoothly- I'll update the blog once we return from the appointment.

Picture Day!

Yesterday McCall had pictures made for her birth annoucement. She was such a little model for the first 30 minutes or so. She let us do just about anything with her without getting fussy, but we soon found out that 30 minutes was definitely her limit (and then came the huge melt down).

Anyway, I snapped a few pictures of her sitting in a basket with my camera. After looking at these, I can't wait to see how the "real" photographers pictures turned out.

Visitors

McCall has had SOOOOOOOO many visitors over the past two weeks and I wanted to post pictures with some of her visitors. Ashley looks like a pro! (Probably because she has 3 precious boys- Andrew-4, Henry- almost 2, and Jacob- 3 months old. McCall can't wait to play with the Love boys!!!!)

McCall's First Easter

Gregg Easter Family Photo Wrigley was upset that we took a family photo without him. And I hope no one gets upset by this picture- Wrigley LOVES McCall and would never hurt her. He is very curious about her and loves to sniff and lick her. As you can see here, he is sniffing her face.

I couldn't get this picture to turn (I know it is probably a very easy thing to fix, but I'm on a time clock right now- she is about to wake up to feed :) ) This is McCall on Easter. Davy's mom made the outfit she is wearing- too bad her hands are in the way- the pattern was very cute!

Aunt Nikki holding McCall Ok, so the next two pictures aren't from Easter, but I thought they were too cute not to include. I think McCall is saying "I can't hear you" in this picture. Davy must have taught her this... This is how I found McCall in her bouncy- I think this is how she feels about all the pictures I take of her. Davy definitely taught her this!!!

What a busy first Easter McCall had! Aunt Nikki, Uncle Eric and Cousin Drake came to visit!! I loved taking pictures of the two of them together and can't wait to look back on these pictures once they are older. Drake was born January 5, so they are a little under 3 months apart. The weekend was a lot of fun- not only because McCall and Drake were able to spend some time together, but also because Nikki totally spoiled us! She cleaned my house and cooked us breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday they were here..... that makes me want to ask- when are you coming back, Nikki? It's not me that needs you, it's McCall :) Anyway, it was amazing!

I'm so glad we had such a great weekend because I have to admit I was pretty bummed that we weren't able to see my family in Easley or go to church. I think this is the first Easter I have not attended church on Easter and it was really strange. Not only was it strange, it was ironic. It was ironic mainly because this Easter I had so incredibly much to thank God for- my sweet little girl is perfect and I could never say thank you enough for such a wonderful gift.

Also, I was upset that we couldn't make it to Easley because Saturday was my Grandmothers 87th Birthday. Happy Birthday again, Grandma!!!! McCall can't wait to meet her great-grandmother.

A week of "firsts"

This week has been a week of first time events for McCall- her first bath at home, her first walk, her first night in her crib, etc. So, of course, I took pictures of these events to share with everyone. I hope you enjoy! McCall was wide awake during the walk.

A week old already!

I can't believe McCall is a week old! Where has the time gone? The past week has been a complete whirlwind. McCall is doing great breastfeeding now- in fact, I wonder if she is doing too good sometimes. She wants to eat ALL the time!!! But I guess it beats her not wanting to eat at all. Anyway, yesterday was especially difficult for me since it was Davy's first day back to work and also the last day that my mom was here to help me. She has been more help than I could have ever imagined! I feel so incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful mom. She helped Davy and I so much- we can't say thank you enough! Today the home health nurse from McLeod came to visit us. I was really excited to find out that McLeod offered this service- it's a perfect way for McCall to be checked again by a nurse before heading to her first doctors appointment in a few weeks. McCall is now 6 pounds and 3 ounces- so she has lost a total of 3 ounces. I was really excited that she hadn't lost more- I guess all those late night feedings are doing some good :) Everything else checked out great with McCall! I just still can't believe how perfect she is and that she is all mine (and Davy's too, I guess :)) Well I better finish this up before McCall wakes up for her next feeding. Before I forget, I want to say thank you to everyone who has visited, called, feed us, sent flowers, sent gifts, etc. Davy and I are so appreciative to have such wonderful family and friends- especially, both sets of our parents. We really could not have gotten through this first week without you all.

OK, so we've taken several HUNDRED photos of McCall since her arrival, but I wanted to go ahead a post a few before she woke up for her next feeding. Enjoy!!!

She's Here!!!!!!

McCall Claire Gregg decided to make an early arrival and say hello to Davy and I on April 1st. Yes, that's right, we have an April Fools Baby! Most of our friends and family did not believe us when they got our text or call Wednesday morning that McCall was about to make her grand entrance. First, I would just like to say that I have, without a doubt, the best husband in the entire world! Davy took me to the hospital Monday night/Tuesday morning around 12 am when I was having contractions. After being checked out and monitored the hospital sent me home around 4:30 am because I was not dilated any further than I had been a week ago. So, Davy and I headed home and got a little rest. After sleeping for a few hours on Tuesday I woke up again having contractions and continued to have them throughout the day. As the day progressed so did my contractions so again we went to the hospital around 9 pm and they once again sent us home around 12:30 am because I was not dilated past 2 centimeters. Before sending me home this time they gave me a shot for pain. However, the shot did NOTHING for me. After lots of breathing exercises, taking a bath, a shower, walking, and several hundred "you can get through this contraction" talks from my husband, we headed back to the hospital around 4:30 Wednesday morning. I told Davy that they were either going to tell me I was going to have the baby or they were going to have to knock me out because of the huge amount of pain I was in. Thank the Lord they told me that I had dilated to almost 5 centimeters and that they were going to keep me. The best part was that not only could they now give me an epidural, but they assured me that I was going to have an April Fools Baby! I was finally going to meet my sweet little girl!!!!!!! I started to cry- and I have to admit it was mostly because I knew I was about to be pain free for the first time in 2 days. Anyway, the rest of labor was a breeze- epidurals are WONDERFUL!!!!! By 12:06 pm McCall Claire Gregg entered the world at 6 pounds 6 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long with a head full of very dark brown/black hair. God is so good! She is perfect in every way. I promise to put pictures up soon. We left the hospital earlier tonight and are just starting to settle in so I'm going to try to catch a few moments of sleep while she sleeps, but I will try to keep the blog pretty current. My wonderful mom has agreed to stay with Davy and I and help us for as long as we need, so I'm going to take full advantage of that.
