Happy Mother's Day!!

What a wonderful first Mother's Day!! I still find it hard to believe that I'm a mother!!! BUT I get reminded everyday when I look at my sweet little girl. I was able to spend the first half of the day with my mom and later that day Davy, McCall and I had dinner with his mom. We are both so blessed to have such loving moms that would do anything for us (and McCall is very lucky to have such great Grandmas!) My sweet husband (and daughter, of course) got me a wonderful Mother's Day gift. Davy wrote me the sweetest card (that made me cry...I'm still really emotional) AND had the diamond in my engagement ring reset into a diamond band and got the matching wedding band as well. I was in complete shock that he did this!! It is beautiful! He also told me that he wants to save my original wedding band for McCall to have one day. I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful husband. Davy kept telling me that he wanted my first Mother's Day to be special and it sure was- I was able to see both my mothers and spend the day with my wonderful husband that gave me a beautiful and healthy daughter. How did I get to be so lucky?

Happy Birthday Lydia and Ryan!

On Saturday afternoon we celebrated my nephew Ryan's 8th Birthday (May 1st) and my niece Lydia's 6th Birthday (May 16th) at Frankie's Fun Park in Greenville. McCall was a trooper! I fed her before we left and she slept the whole time we were at Frankie's. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

McCall's First Play Date

Yesterday McCall and I headed to Greer to meet Mr. Price Miller (who by the way is ADORABLE!!!). This was our official first car ride with just the two of us. I would love to say that it went perfect. However, that is not the case. McCall had a melt down and I had to stop to feed her 5 minutes short of arriving at The Miller's house. Once we arrived, McCall was wide awake and ready to finally meet this handsome baby I had been telling her about. After being introduced and hanging out for a few minutes Price and McCall were both worn out and napped together in the pack and play. It was precious! It was so nice to catch up with Kristen and Blair while the two of them napped! BUT the napping did not last forever and once the two of them got up Blair decided to have bonding time with McCall. It was hilarious- and I'm so glad we caught it on tape. Once McCall and Price get older they may want to kill us after the things we said about them on tape :)

All in all we had a great afternoon and it was fun visiting with The Millers!

Going to Mimi's house!!

Ok, so we took the plung! McCall and I (and my mom) set out on our first long car ride to Easley on Sunday. The trip normally takes a little over three hours- it definitely took us a little over four :) We had a few bumps along the way, (which included McCall AND myself having to put on a fresh set of clothing...long story) but eventually arrived in Easley. We decided to go to Easley this week after finding out that Davy would be working out of town all week and thought what a great time to go see my family (especially my grandmother who has not met McCall yet). However, Davy will be joining us on Thursday in Easley and we can't wait. This is the longest he has ever been away from McCall and I know he misses her terribly.

We LOVE mail!

Who knew when you have a baby (or get married) you would get so many fun things in the mail??? Not us! Davy, McCall and I have been so surprised by the love and generosity family and friends have shown us and Thursday was no different. Thursday afternoon my doorbell rang and before I could get to the door I saw the UPS man drive off. I assumed that whatever package he had dropped off probably was something from work and I would get it once McCall finished eating. After feeding McCall and putting her in her bouncy I remembered the package outside and went to get it. I was in complete shock when I opened it. Norma and Mike (Davy's host parents from Idaho) had sent McCall 6 outfits, two bath towels and an adorable pair of slippers!! It took every ounce of self-control for me to not wake McCall to try these outfits on her. They were absolutely precious! Mike and Norma are such kind people. They treated Davy like their own when he played Minor League baseball and hosted him in their home. In fact, I can't believe Mike and Norma still like Davy and me after we blew their car up. Yes, I said blew their car up!!!! It's a long story, but the day Davy and I got engaged he was driving their car and it caught fire and ended up blowing up in a bank parking lot (One day I'll have to do a blog and put the full story on here). Since meeting Mike and Norma they have remained an important part of mine and Davy's lives. They even flew out to SC for our wedding and came back about a year and half ago for a week to visit. We love them so much!! Thank you again for such a wonderful gift for McCall, Norma and Mike. We can't wait for you both to meet her.

Happy 1 Month Birthday, McCall

Friday McCall turned a month old-where does the time go??? I can NOT believe that it has already been a month!!! McCall had such a fun day and started out with an e-mail (which we are really fond of these days since you never know when she will be awake or asleep) from Mimi telling McCall Happy 1 month Birthday and promised her a shopping trip- I just want to know if McCall's mom can cash in on this? :) I sure hope McCall is a shopper- for Mimi's sake! Ok, now for McCall's favorite and most exciting part of the day......... drum roll.............. Davy kept McCall all by himself while I judged cheerleading tryouts in Elgin. I was so proud of Davy and McCall. Davy was a champ! I thought for sure I would get a phone call telling me to turn around and come home, but no, my sweet daughter behaved and Davy had everything under control. Anyway, it was such a proud moment for me.... Earlier that morning I decided to video tape McCall for Aunt Koehler since she wasn't going to be able to see her (I was going to take her, but after thinking about the Swine flu, etc. I decided that taking her to a school was probably not the best idea). McCall (and Davy, of course) showed off on the video for Aunt K- it was adorable! Also, Carmen came to visit McCall on her one month Birthday. Carmen is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met. She NEVER forgets a milestone. Every week I get a text or a call saying "Happy one week old, McCall" or "good luck at McCall's first doctor's appointment" and Friday was no different. My phone beeped and I knew exactly what the text would say when I saw it was Carmen- "Happy One Month Old, McCall!!" We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives!! Anyway, Happy One Month Old, McCall! You have given Davy and me the best month of our lives!

Bad blogger

So, I've been a bad blogger this week for several reasons. The main reason being that I've had a cold/sinus infection- blah! BUT I'm feeling much, much better now! These are a few pictures of McCall this week- ENJOY! Getting ready for our Sunday walk around the pond.
