STOP IT!

REALLY!! Please stop getting so big Baylor! She is starting to stand ALONE now-- though not for very long (usually 5-10 seconds). I am REALLY having a tough time with my "little" one growing up so fast  :(

My Little Artist

I love that McCall loves to draw, color, and paint every waking moment -- reminds me of my childhood friend, Lindsey (who is super talented!)
However, I do NOT love that McCall decided to show off her art work on my euro sham......please tell me Lindsey did this too, Mrs. Eads- she did, right? right?

So, my night has consisted of googling how to get this out :(

She's Got What?!?!?!

So, last Tuesday I got a phone call from McCall's school saying that she was complaining of her bottom itching. They said they had inspected it and it looked like she had a bug bite and scratched it so hard it was starting to bleed. I asked them if it was bad enough for me to come get her from school and they promptly told me "No, she's fine." So I continued on with my work day. As soon as I picked McCall up on Tuesday I noticed her scratching at her bottom. So, when we walked in the house I looked at her bottom and they were for the most part right. It looked like maybe something had bitten her and she had made it worse by scratching. So, I put some Neosporin on it and started to make dinner. After dinner we got ready for bath time and as I took McCall's clothes off I noticed that the "bite" was getting worse. I decided to keep an eye on it and if after one full day it wasn't better we might need to call the doctor.
Well, long story short, it didn't get better-- AT ALL!! In fact, by Wednesday night it was spreading and looked more like McCall was allergic to something because it had spread from one small spot on her bottom to both sides of her bottom and starting to go up her back and down her legs.
I really didn't want to over react so, on Thursday morning I took McCall to school and had all intentions of  calling the doctor first thing, but I got busy with work. Around 10:30 I remembered that I needed to call M's doctor. I had pretty much made up my mind that I was just going to swing by McCall's school, take a picture of her bottom, and take the picture to the doctor (since I call on that doctor anyway)-- that way I could continue working and he could confirm to me that I was over reacting or tell me that she was suddenly allergic to our laundry detergent.
UMMMM.... yeah, that didn't happen! I called the doctor and explained what was going on and what I was thinking about doing. McCall's doctor told me I needed to get her there right away since it was spreading so fast. At this point, I thought he was probably just being very cautious. So, I got McCall from school and headed up to the doctor's office. The doctor (Dr. Don-- who we LOVE!!) looked at McCall's bottom and immediately said that is NOT from a bug! After inspecting the area for a moment he came to a decision on what was wrong with McCall's bottom. She had.............
a bacterial skin infection!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?! My immediate reaction was "I promise we give her baths.....REGULARLY~!" And he laughed. He explained to me that she must not have cleaned her hands good or touched something and then scratched her bottom and that's how it all happened. My mouth was still open because I was convinced it was my fault and couldn't believe she had a bacterial skin infection! After about 20 minutes of Dr. Don telling me that she is a child and they are going to get dirty I stopped feeling so guilty.... or that's what I told him (B/c we all know, I STILL feel terrible!)
So, now for the next 10 days McCall is on a good antibiotic and cream (each three times a day!!)

So, MY key take aways from this are.........
A. Every bug bite or skin irregularity my kids get I will now be that crazy over reacting mom who takes their kids to the doctor.
B. I will be purchasing stock in hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap-- My kids will have the cleanest hands in town!

****I originally wanted to show a photo of the infected area. However, after telling my husband (who clearly put more thought into it than I did) of my great idea, he told me it probably was not a good idea. :)

Who Is Your Favorite?

I was playing with Baylor tonight saying "Ma Ma and Da Da" when I randomly said "who is your favorite-- Mama .... or Da Da?"  (In reality I know the answer... of course... ME! Just kidding, Davy!) I know, I am annoying with the "Ma Ma and Da Da" but when I ask B if I am her favorite, she giggles! Watch!! Ha- Too cute!!!!!!!

Easter

A few pictures from our Easter fun!
 It was chilly on Easter morning so the girls wore cardigans which would be fine, but this was the only picture I got of them together ALL day :(
 Hunting eggs with Daddy!
 Baylor's treats from the Easter Bunny (he must have been so busy he forgot to get her an actual basket!)
 McCall's basket full of candy, dresses, new shoes, panties, etc....man, she sure had a nice Easter Bunny!

Say What?!?!?!

I have to admit I am IN LOVE with the stage my sweet McCall is in-- she says the funniest things. For example......

Last week, Davy did something (I really don't remember what it was... he probably spilt something on my carpet... I don't know... I'm a neat freak and get VERY disturbed by a mess....ironic I know with two small babies!) and I said "Jesus Davy" and I had no clue McCall was near by but within seconds she walked into the room with her hand over her mouth giggling and saying "Daddy, Mommy called us Jesus." --for real the chick was so tickled she could barely get it out! HA!
***just a side note.... I typically do NOT take Jesus' name in vain.... for whatever reason, that came out of my mouth--- def. working on that!!! EHHHHH not my proudest moment!

Yesterday morning I put McCall in a shirt I got her. The shirt was super cute with a "M" on it {for McCall.}. I asked McCall after I got her dressed what was on her shirt. McCall replied "An M {long pause}-- OH NO... where is the C-C-A-L-L?????" BAHHHHHH HA HA HA!!!! For real?!?!?!? Where does she get this stuff?

3 Year Old Check-Up

McCall had her THREE year old check-up yesterday {I still can NOT believe my once 6 pound 6 ounce baby is now three!!}
Her check-up was pretty uneventful. However, I almost fell on the floor when they told me that she had grown over SIX inches in an entire year!!!!!! SIX!!!!! {Six and 1/4 to be exact!} Holy moly!
McCall is now ONLY {and I am clearly saying that sarcastically} in the 98th percentile for height {she once was around 120th percentile} and around the 80th percentile for weight...... hey, we like to eat at our house :)
Also,  the doctor seems pleased with how McCall has been reacting to her allergy medication and has decided to leave her on it for another 6 month and then re-evaluate.

Lucky Number 3 (and Number 8!)

McCall turned 3 yesterday and Baylor turned 8 Months Old on Wednesday. Oh my how time is FLYING! I seriously feel like I just found out I was pregnant with McCall and now she is THREE!!!!!! {and has a little sister!!!!}
Anyway.... we had a fantastic birthday week/weekend with her. I took Thursday and Friday off of work to finish up some errands for her party and spend some much needed time with my girls! Davy and I have both been crazy busy with work over the past several months. In fact, I don't think there has been one week where one of us hasn't been gone at least 3 nights out of the week for the past 5 weeks!!! :(
So, it was a nice change to take time to slow down and focus on our family. Thursday night really kicked off McCall's Birthday Weekend when MiMi and PaPa arrived! They got to spend some time with the girls while Davy and I went to "Dancing With The Stars- Florence." Then on Friday we let McCall go to school for part of the day and celebrate her birthday with her classmates by taking cupcakes {MiMi, PaPa, Daddy, Mommy, Grandpa and LaLa came to have cupcakes too!!!}. Then Friday night Papi arrived! Goodness,  the girls were in Heaven-you could just hear lots of playing, kisses, and giggles all weekend long!
And then Saturday rolled around and it was time for McCall's ice cream party! McCall had a fantastic time celebrating with family and friends {even though it started to rain and we had to move most of the party to our garage. ****A HUGE thank you to my sweet Mom, Dad, Ken, Amber, Will, Carmen and Jamie for all of your help setting up for the party. Davy and I couldn't have done it without you!!!! And Carmen thank you for taking pictures-- I would not have had anything to document this special day had it not been for you!)
Sweet Kellyn came! These two were too cute together!

 M's cake! Thank you Jennifer Robinson- you are awesome!
 The Birthday Girl!
 Baylor had a fun time too! {Kimberly, the dress worked out perfectly for Baylor-- thank you thank you thank you!!!}

 Opening gifts

The group watching M open gifts

Sunday was McCall's actual birthday, but we decided to have the party on Saturday so my parents wouldn't have to drive back late Sunday afternoon.
So Sunday morning Davy and I had planned on continuing with our tradition of getting McCall up together to video tape her and sing "Happy Birthday." However, that was not to be! Poor McCall woke up at 5:30 Sunday morning not feeling so hot. Actually, she was VERY hot-- and definitely had a fever! So MiMi and Papi (my parents) offered to keep the girls while Davy and I went on to church. I'm SOOOO glad we decided not to take her to church because not long after we left she starting throwing up!!! AH! Poor baby was sick on her birthday! I felt terrible when I called to check on her and my mom told me what was going on.
By the time we got home McCall had gone down for a nap (on the family room floor). So, I fully expected to have a pretty low key afternoon after that........
Have I ever mentioned that McCall is an April Fool's Baby and she's ALWAYS full of surprises? Well, she definitely lived up to that yesterday. She woke up from her nap ready to go! As in.... ready to go play! Yes, she was fine and no longer felt bad! Not sure how that happened, but so glad it did!!!!!
Because.....AMBER AND WILL CAME TO PLAY!!!!
Davy and I have been blessed with some really special relationships in our lives and one is with his cousin Will and Will's girlfriend, Amber. Those two have the sweetest, most special bond with our girls! They spend so much time with our girls and truly care about them-- AND boy do the girls love them! Will and Amber brought McCall a fun sprinkler system for our yard. So, of course she had to try it out!!!!

 McCall had so much fun with Will in the sprinkler!

So after all the sprinkler fun was over, we grilled out cheese burgers and sang to McCall one final time....
