6 Month Check-up (technically 6 1/2 months)

Today McCall had her 6 month check-up and got her seasonal flu shot. She was in the 95th percentile
(slightly over 27 inches long) in height (look at her taking after her daddy already...awwwww), has moved up to the 70th percentile in weight (16 lbs. 15 ounces-woooo hoooo!!!), and was between the 10th and 15th percentile in head size. Dr.Whitehead was very pleased with her progress, especially her weight (she's FINALLY starting to catch up to her height and getting some cute chubby cheeks and legs!). Anyway, the visit was very uneventful, which we like. Days like this make Davy and I realize how incredibly blessed we are to have such a healthy and truly happy baby. Oh, how we love our sweet girl- God is SO good!!!!!!!

6 Months Old!!!!!!!!

Last week my sweet little girl turned a half of an entire year old!!!!! Where is the time going?
At 6 Months she:
~sits unsupported
~moves (I would say crawl, but it's definitely not a traditional crawl-more like an army crawl or an inch worm- either way, you get the point)
~smiles and laughs a lot
~crawls at a slow pace (unless my blackberry is on the floor on the other side of the room. If that's the case, she will  crawl to the blackberry in .2776 seconds- hope this love of the phone isn't a sign of things to come....)
~still isn't loving the pacifier
~loves rice cereal and oatmeal
~has tried carrots, peas, and greenbeans (and LOOOOOOOVES them all)
~just got two bottom teeth (woooooo hooooo!)
~sleeps from 7:30 PM to 6:45ish AM
~her hair is coming in lighter and with curls :)
~will have her crib lowered this week due to the gymnastics she has decided to perform the past few mornings (almost giving her Mommy a heart attack)

These were taken on her 1/2 birthday- Happy 6 Months Old, McCall!!!

McCall got to meet Ella!!! Ella is my co-worker's, Kimberly, sweet 3 month old.

We visited the pumpkin patch Friday afternoon, but I didn't get very good pictures of McCall looking. Thank goodness we took Whitney to take pictures and so far from the previews they look precious!!!!

Picture Updates

Ok, below are some pictures from McCall at 5 months that I have been meaning to add. Aunt Koehler (and Gus) and Aunt Caroline came to visit McCall the day of the Georgia game.

We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! (and with two teeth!!!)

Our new Dell arrived this afternoon, so I will be uploading pictures all afternoon from the past month or so. I'm going to try to update the blog on everything that has happened recently as well, but the latest news involves McCall getting her first teeth!!! Her first bottom tooth made its arrival on Monday and the second bottom tooth on Wednesday. So, to say the least it has been an exciting week!!!

Teething....yikes!

Over the past few months I have prayed and prayed for time to slow down with my sweet baby as I feel that she is growing up WAY too fast. However, there is an exception to every rule, right?!? TEETHING!!! Could this phase go any faster? Please?!? McCall has no visible teeth but you can definitely see the outline (I guess that is what you call it) of her top two and bottom two teeth. You can tell they are so so so close to popping through. Seriously, this teething phase has to end soon, right? Drooling, some fussiness, putting EVERYTHING in her mouth, etc.... oh my!

First Home Game of The Season.....

which equals LOTS and LOTS of time with the grandparents!!! Mom and Ken (Mimi and Papa) offered to keep McCall for Davy and I so we could attend all of the home South Carolina games this year. They thought since we would be driving to Columbia any way, we could just meet them there and they would take McCall back to Easley and on Sunday we could pick her back up. This way Davy and I can enjoy the game AND they get to spend time with McCall- PERFECT! So, last weekend we were able to tailgate with our friends, go into the game and then do some shopping for McCall's Halloween costume on Sunday before picking her back up. GOOOOOOO GAMECOCKS!

Yard Sale and visitors

Two weekends ago we had yet another yard sale(Davy and Koehler's idea) and McCall had several visitors. Papi, Koehler and Caroline came to visit McCall. We did the yard sale Saturday morning and enjoyed (even though SC lost) the Georgia football game on TV that night. We have some super cute photos of McCall in her South Carolina outfit to post as soon as computer issues are worked out.

Houston we have a problem...

Our computer finally bit the dust (almost within minutes of my last post) AND, all of our pictures of McCall were saved on that computer= NOT GOOD! We hope to recover all of those pictures and post them soon. Until then, I will post via blackberry (without photos) about all the fun events in M's life.

Daycare baby!

Mrs. Margie with McCall- Mrs. Margie calls McCall her "other" daughter- how sweet is that? I am so sad that I have waited until now to brag on McCall's WONDERFUL daycare! I really struggled with the idea of daycare during my pregnancy, but once D and I visited numerous wonderful daycares in Florence I started warming up to the idea. Wouldn't you know as soon as I warmed up to the idea I figured out that most of them had a year (or MORE) waiting list!!!!!! Seriously??????? So you can imagine my frustration! Well, Davy and I were thrilled to find out that a space had opened up for McCall at FMU's Center for the Child 1 month before she was born and would be available shortly after her due date- perfect timing!!!!!! Also, this was one of the schools that Davy and I fell in love with the second we stepped into the door. Mrs. Bunchie, the Director, gave us a tour (several times- I know, we are crazy first time parents who are VERY overprotective) Mrs. Bunchie was so helpful and let us observe all of the classrooms and encouraged us to stop by when she or any of the teachers weren't expecting us (I liked that!!!!) Mrs. Margie and Mrs. Traci are McCall's primary teachers and are amazing!!! They are always reading and keeping updated on the latest trend for teaching infants- I swear I learn something new from them everyday. Her classroom has met and exceeded all of my expectations. I definitely wanted a learning environment for McCall, but more importantly wanted her to be loved and feel safe at school- I never imagined that we could get all of these aspects at one place. McCall's school (daycare- which ever you prefer to call it) even has a Family Advisory Committee that meets to discuss how to continually improve learning at the school and address any concerns. I was thrilled and honored when FMU CFTC asked me to serve as Coordinator for the infants. I think that is wonderful that they get parents of the children who attend to be so involved in the decision making process for the Center.

You're invited....

Another first in McCall's life- she got invited to her first birthday party (she even got the invitation in the mail with her name on it and everything- too cute!!) So, on Saturday McCall attended her first birthday party! McCall had so much fun that she ended up crashing mid-party and enjoying a nice long nap!
The Birthday girl telling us that she is now 2! Happy Birthday, Lilly!!! Oh look at that sweet face! I think she thought we were going to slip her a little birthday cake...sorry, McCall!
The newest member of the family, Tanner! He is 2 and half weeks old!
Miss Lilly about to blow out the candle!
McCall loves hanging out with Sissy!
and so does Tanner!
Cousins!!! Courtney, Tanner, Lilly, Walker, Carolyn and McCall
Davy put M in the big blow up Crayon! Maybe next year she can get in by herself! :)
Walker- who is probably the happiest child I have ever met in my life!

How cute is this? Cousins blowing bubbles together!
