McCall's Dedication Weekend

OK, so I went into mad photo taking mode this weekend. I just downloaded the pictures and I took over 300 this weekend!!!!! Holy Cow! I promise not to post them all, but what a great weekend!

This was such an important weekend in not only for McCall, but for Davy and me. We had McCall's Dedication to the church! We can not express how thankful we were for the close friends and family who came to support McCall at such an important event. It meant the world to us!!!!!

Our family with Pastor Monroe!

Davy introducing our family
Papi with McCall before church
Mimi and McCall time (I think this is so sweet the way they are looking at each other!)
McCall loves riding the golf cart with Mimi and Papa
"Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!!" It was Davy's Dads birthday on Saturday and McCall wanted to help him open his card
HA!!!!! Our friends (The Tetanich's) are now renting out their beautiful house for weddings. Saturday was the first wedding at their house, so we went to check it out a few hours before it was to start. McCall decided she wanted to break it down on the dance floor!
Doing the robot....
McCall loves being chased! Can you tell?
Being "chased" by Papa!

She sure does love her sippy cups!

Emily made it to McCall's dedication!!!!! This child is pure sweetness!

My sweet hubby and Hall! The Beards are such amazing friends!!! We heart you guys more than you know!

***Notice McCall's cross necklace- a gift from Grandma and Grandpa to celebrate her dedication to the church.
OK, I had to include this picture. (sorry, Koehler) Somehow this was the only picture I had of you from the entire day :)
She hated this when she was an infant....
but when we got it out for Emily she suddenly had tons of interest in it..... go figure!
Bran, Hamp, McCall and Jencey... such amazing friends to be there for such an important day for McCall!
So, Grandpa and Grandma gave M a John Deere and apparently she now knows how to drive it (notice Grandpa chasing M in the background.... I think he was surprised she took off in it!) :)
Up to no good.....

15 Month Check-Up

McCall had her 15 Month check-up today and it was incredibly uneventful (which was nice)
M at 15 months :
25 pounds (exactly), which is the 75th percentile
32 1/16 inches long, which is the 92nd percentile
The doctor commented on how impressed he was with her verbal skills (she decided to show off and talk THE WHOLE time during the visit! We heard lots of "milk," "daddy," "bye, bye," "Katie," "kiss ""thank you," etc.).

I can't say enough how thankful and blessed Davy and I are to have such a healthy, thriving , vocal and happy little girl. God has definitely been good to us-15 plus months with this amazing little girl- I can't imagine loving her anymore than we do- but I'm sure somehow it will happen!!

A Little Weekend Photo Recap!

OK, so it was a weekend full of mixed emotions (some fun times, some not so fun times), but below are some pictures from the brighter part of the weekend.
(PS- super tired from the weekend- hence the super short blog post above and little to-no captions below pictures...sorry- will do better later on in the week)

What Is That Saying "Curiosity Killed The Cat?"

So, as you probably know, McCall's hair is rather curly some days. I started to wonder just how long her hair would be if it were straight .... (you know where I'm going with this, right?)
McCall's hair Thursday morning...
McCall's hair Thursday night after a little straightener action...(no worries, it returned to curly the next day)
McCall and I in our matching outfits this afternoon :)
Oh how this child brings pure joy to our lives!!!!

200th Post AND A Funny Video!

As you have seen in numerous pictures, it is not unusual for McCall to fall asleep at the table. On Tuesdays, it is especially not unusual, as it is "Water Day, Tuesday" at school. Soooo,  McCall is typically WIPED out! This video was from dinner time tonight at our house... enjoy!!!!

4th of July, etc...

So, our 4th of July Weekend was filled with fireworks, baseball, a pool party, and lots of fun! McCall headed off to Easley Saturday morning to see the grandparents while Davy and I headed to the USC Alumni Baseball Game. I can't believe McCall was gone from Saturday until Monday night!!!! We missed her like crazy (in fact, I had lots of "mommy guilt"), but it was nice to have some alone time with my hubby! (No worries, McCall had a blast with her cousins, Ryan, Lydia and Ellis, and Mimi, Papa, and Papi ALLLLLLLLLL weekend!)
Sunday we went to a fun pool party at the Easterlings and then spent most of Monday cleaning our house (exciting, right? Hey, you gotta do it while the toddler is gone!)
Got up there all by herself.....
T-R-O-U-B-L-E  :)
"I don't understand why you don't want my shoes on your pretty white chairs, Mommy"

15 Months Old....HOLY MOLY!!!!!

Yes, McCall (as of Thursday) is 15 Months Old!!!!!!!!!!
I'm amazed everyday at all the new things she is picking up.
At 15 Months some of her new stuff includes:
  • She has suddenly switched from strictly favoring her left hand to now coloring with the right hand half of the time and the left hand the other half of the time. SO, the jury is still out on if she will be a lefty like her Mama or a rightly like her Daddy! :)
  • Runs!!! Walking was fine UNTIL she figured out she could run.  AND seems to like doing that..Now she's into everything much FASTER! Awesome.....
  • Walks into her class at school and starts playing with the other children. Sounds normal enough, right? No, her routine up until about 2 weeks ago was clinging to my leg for a good 2 minutes when we first arrived at daycare. Those days are long gone..... I guess I should be happy she is independent.... yeah, whatever- I can admit it- sometimes I miss the days of crying and clinging to my leg :) She has the rest of her life to go being all Miss Independent. :)
  • Continues to expand her vocabulary- I know I will forget some of her "new" words, but the big ones this month were: Pop pop (for her Grandpa), bow (this makes me giggle... yes, she wears a bow EVERYDAY!!), shoooooo (shoes), pup pup (for Wrigley, our dog), blue, eat (she has said this for months, but this has become the word of the month- by that I mean, she says it over and over and over and over until you feed the chick...seriously....), no (and shakes her head "no" while she says it)
  • Has become obsessed with those balls that you put shaped blocks into. We have two of them. Santa brought one and her Great Aunt Maggie and Great Uncle Stoney got her the other one. We play with this toy for an hour every night (not by our choice- Davy and I have hid both toys numerous times and some how she always finds them...no  lie!). Does that make us bad parents? Hope not...
  • Is finally starting to like water and juice better. But Mainly water...we are still working on the juice thing.
  • Lights up and says "Daddy" when Davy walks into the room. This melts my heart and I don't think I will ever get tired of it!
  • Squeals! She's never been a squealer til now. When Davy and I chase her around the house she squeals... its adorable!
  • Oh, and I almost forgot. TEETH! She has lots of them!!!!! Those things are popping through left and right. At last count she had 16!!!
OK, think that's it for now. I think ....
Happy 15 Months, McCall!!! You have brought more joy into our lives in the past 15 months than we ever thought imaginable! We love you immensely!
