A Day of Shopping

Today Davy, McCall and I spent the day shopping in Greenville with Papa and Mimi. We had quite the list of things to get accomplished. #1 and the most important- looking for a car seat (since McCall will soon be moving into a "toddler" car seat). #2 Finishing up a few odds and ends shopping for McCall's Birthday party and #3 Finding some new shoes to go with McCall's Birthday party outfit and some everyday shoes. We got ALL three done!!!! (The car seats were ordered once we got back to Mom and Ken's since we didn't have room in our car to take them back to Florence.) All of these events were fairly uneventful and fun. However, #3 (aka "shoe shopping") did become rather interesting and comical. First, this seemingly knowledgeable man working at Stride Rite asked if we needed help fitting our 11 month old- I NEVER told him she was 11 months old! So, I was thinking"this man has been around a kid or two" He measured McCall's foot and sure enough she had moved up a size. Ok, so we pick out a few shoes to try on- all is going great until the man said "great, you picked a nice shoe for children with extra nourished feet" I must have looked at him like he had four heads because he then proceeded to touch the top of my child's foot and say "see? Right here she has some extra nourishment and this shoe with its adjustable band will have added extra room for that" EXCUSE ME, BUT DID THIS MAN JUST CALL MY CHILD'S FOOT FAT???? (In a nice way?) Yes, I think so! HAHA!!! BUT I sure do love those "nourished feet" :) We have all joked around all afternoon about McCall's "nourished feet."
