Ahhhhh.....MiMi.....(And Sweet Friends!)

So, just as anticipated... MiMi came and made everything ALL better! Lots of relaxing and resting was done!
Side Note: I don't think I mentioned in the previous post, but Davy was called into work literally the second we pulled back into the drive way Sunday night from the ER. The storm knocked power out ALL over town, so he was gone ALL night (he hadn't slept since Saturday night)!!
MiMi, (aka, my wonderful Mom) took charge when she got here. She played with M, feed her lunch, bathed her, made our dinner, etc... pretty much she was fabulous! Poor Davy came in from work and ate what my Mom made and went straight to bed- he was SOOOO tired!
This morning Mom got up with McCall, fed her and helped get her ready for school. What did this mean? Yes, I was able to sleep in 'til 6:30 and have a cup of coffee while I got dressed. It was pure heaven!!!!!! I could really get used to this every morning!

I also HAVE to say how more than blessed we are to have such wonderful friends in Florence. Especially our friends, Brandon and Jencey (and sweet Hampton). While my mom kept McCall yesterday they did some grocery shopping for us. I heart them! There is definitely never a dull moment with Brandon and Jencey - they always keep us laughing!!!!! For example (Just an FYI, I did NOT laugh in the beginning...you'll see why), yesterday Brandon stopped by the house to pick up something Davy had left him. I let Brandon in and we chatted for a second while McCall was in her high chair eating her morning snack (waiting on MiMi to arrive). I told Brandon he should go look outside. I wanted him to see all of the damage in our back yard from the storm, as well as, all the damage near our house. We both walked out to the screened-in porch and Brandon shut the door behind himself. As soon as the door shut, my head spun around as if I were the Exorcist! I knew what he had just done..... yeah, he just locked us out....WITH MCCALL INSIDE!!!!!! I ran around to the garage door and it too was locked! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I had NO spare key hidden and Davy was 45 minutes away. My immediate reaction was to break a window to get to my sweet girl. I tried to stay calm and went back to the back window to see if I could still see her. Yep, right where I left her...drinking her milk looking at me like "hey mom, do that thing again where you run really fast to the front of the house- it was funny!"  OK, so she wasn't panicking, so I shouldn't, right???? Brandon immediately started trying to break into our house with a credit card- that was a no go! My mind was going 10,000 times a minute....is this really happening? And is this really happening on a day that I feel THIS bad? Arg!!! Suddenly, I remembered that the cleaning lady, Gail, had a key to our house. I called her and by the grace of God she was home. Gail rushed over and unlocked the door. And this is what we found when we opened the door......
I mean seriously????? I stressed out while she was napping!!!!
I'm just glad it all turned out OK! :)
Being silly with MiMi before bed time

mid giggle....
Loving on MiMi this morning.....

MiMi was stealing all her kisses!
These two thought they were funny-MiMi told McCall to tell me goodbye this morning because she wanted to take her home with her.... AND McCall started waving "bye bye!" They are going to be trouble together!!!! :)

Because Sometimes You Just Need Your Mom.....

I don't even know where to begin. We have had a week of sickness and it all came to a head last night. McCall has had a stomach bug off and on throughout the week (and she decided to share with her Daddy). I started getting sick Thursday night and went to the doctor Friday afternoon(all the while still working and ignoring my body's signs telling me to slow down). Yesterday morning I had an asthma attack that scared me to death, but decided everything was OK. WRONG! Last night (in the midst of a terrible storm) I had another asthma attach- 10 times worse than before!!!!!!!  Davy took me to the ER (and Amber kept McCall- BIG thank you again!!!) where I got another breathing treatment and 2 shots (a shot of steroids and a shot for pain).
Did I mention there was a terrible storm? Yeah, got home from the ER with NO power- and I'm sure the LARGE tree going across our power line and our neighbors probably had something to do with it!!!! Arg.... today I ONCE AGAIN decided to ignore my body and try to go to work (can you tell I'm incredibly stubborn???) and I got to McCall's school to find a note "Due to lack of power the center will not open today." I lost it!! No, really.... lost it! I called my Mom and without hesitation she said "I'm on my way... you ARE going to rest and I'm going to take care of McCall" Ahh,.... so, right now, we are awaiting her arrival so I can climb into bed and rest (since there was very little to no sleeping without the power/AC) and she can watch Miss McCall.
**Oh, and PS, McCall once AGAIN has the stomach bug this morning....seriously????
Thank the good Lord for my sweet Mom! Because sometimes you just need your mom....

Since This IS McCall's Blog, I TRY To Keep It ALL About Her, BUT....

I do have to take a moment to talk about something other than her (though I could go on and on about her, I promise!!!!). I just needed to take time out to say how beyond marvelous my husband is as a Dad! I know Father's Day is coming up, (and I'm sure to post something fabulous about him then too :) ) BUT I couldn't not share this.
Davy has recently started a weekly Friday tradition of "Pancakes with Pops" with McCall. This consists of just the two of them going to breakfast on Friday mornings and spending some time together before he takes her to daycare. How cute is that?
Davy started his new position with his company last week (we are SO proud of him) and is now on call during certain weeks. Thursday night he was on call during that terrible storm and was called out at 9:30 PM and didn't return until about 8:30 AM. I thought for sure he would go straight to bed. NO, he would not hear of it! He finished getting McCall dressed and took her to Pancakes for Pops before he dropped her off at school. Seriously???? Love him more and more everyday!!!!

Take A Bite Out Of Crime (or my sweet precious child....)

Yeah, it happened AGAIN! McCall got bit at school by the SAME child in the SAME place on her arm. Poor thing! So, last night Davy and I discussed what we should do (if anything). Oh, to be a fly on the wall at our house during this conversation!!!!! Originally the conversation started out pretty reasonable, but suddenly took a nose dive!
ME: "So, this biting thing- do you think McCall will start biting now that someone has been biting her?"
DAVY: "I don't know"
ME: "What do you think we should do about it? I mean, apparently this child thinks McCall's arm looks yummy. Should we just start dressing her in long sleeves every day?"
DAVY: " Oh, I have an idea. Lets get her one of those full metal suits that they wore in medieval times"
ME: [stupid look given]

Anyway... we are working with the daycare on this situation and hope to figure out a way for this child not to continue taking a bite of my sweet girl. I actually feel really bad for the parents of this child (as I was a biter too when I was little and have heard all of my parents stories...ehhh...sorry!!!).

(PS- I was able to write this blog in the middle of the day because McCall is sick with a stomach bug- yeah, got that call about 4:45 yesterday(30 minutes after the "bite call")- awesome day at daycare, right?)

The 2nd bite.... :(
Just a random picture of McCall asleep Sunday  night after we ate dinner

A Little Of Everything....

Ah! I keep telling myself that I will try to do a new blog entry every other day, so all the pictures don't pile up on me. However, it just hasn't worked out that way! Oh well, maybe one day, right?
OK, so McCall has had a busy week (and so have her parents)!!! I figure you would rather see what she's been up to rather than have me write about it-ENJOY! (PS- my pictures are NOT in chronological order- my computer/blogger was not cooperating while trying to create this post)
Her hair is getting curlier everyday!!!
Sweet sleepy face!

McCall got a boo boo! (and never cried)
Papi and MiMi came to visit! This picture is of McCall playing outside with Papi
She sure does love that beach chair! We are going to have to plan a beach trip for that sweet girl so she can put it to good use!
We had to put a lock on the screen door a few months back....
McCall isn't a fan of it...can you tell by the look on her face?
Reading with Mimi!!!!

While my mom and dad were in town, we started talking about how much we loved homemade ice cream when I was little, so we decided to go buy a churn and make some!
McCall was all about the box the ice cream churn was  packaged in!
I love the way my sweet child lights up when her Daddy plays with her!
"Papi, is that you???"
"Yes, it is! I've missed you!!!"
McCall's new thing is to watch Wrigley eat.... I don't get what is so interesting about it, but it sure makes  her happy (and that's all that matters, right?)
Playing with Papi outside
This is McCall's 14 Month Old Picture!  (in her rain jacket that Davy claimed she would never wear! ha!)
"Look at my pretty rain boots, Mom!"
McCall also likes to bring me Wrigley's food (so that she can watch him eat)
It's also hard to keep any type of clip, bow, etc in this busy little girls hair...
I watched Hampton one night for his parents. He and McCall had a blast playing (and eating!)

Hampton sat on McCall- it was too funny!!!!
McCall got bit for the first time at school this week :(
Hamp pushing McCall around! :)
More fun with Daddy!
McCall's Grandma and Grandpa got her this wagon- she L.O.V.E.S. riding in it!!! BUT, I don't know who taught her to ride like this!!! ha!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!!!

Yesterday, which happen to also be Memorial Day, was Davy's 27th Birthday! The day was all about HIM! McCall and I did whatever he wanted to do.... which was taking it easy for the most part! :)
Happy Birthday, Davy!!  I hope we made the day very special for you. You are the best husband and Dad anyone could ever ask for!!!! We love you!

Yes, I made him blow out a candle at breakfast while we sang! :)
(I think I have mentioned before, but birthdays were HUGE when I was growing up and that's one tradition Davy and I have been good at continuing on with each other. I hope that we will always make McCall feel special on her special day too- no matter how old she is!)
McCall giving Daddy his gifts (while he is on the phone with Papi[my sweet Daddy])

She decided to sit.....
.....and help him start opening gifts :)
McCall clapping for her Daddy blowing out the candles at breakfast!
Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!!
It's hard to get a picture of her these days without the sippy cup :)
"Daddy, I hope you have the BEST Birthday ever!!!  I love you!"
Davy decided he wanted to go swimming at Sissy and Boots(his grandparents) pool. McCall was ready to go once we got her bathing suit on!
"Come on, Mom. Let's go!!!"
She sure does love her Daddy!
Miss Priss about to get into the pool :)
....and the water was too cold for her liking....so we all got out and spent some time with Sissy and Boots. (Sissy and McCall had a blast "patty caking" together! McCall can even do the "roll 'em up" part now thanks to Sissy!)
M fell asleep at dinner... it was a big day for her!
The "official" Birthday cake
Happy Birthday, Davy! You mean the world to McCall and me- and that will never change! Muuuuuah!
